Eric and Roxie Yonkey

I'm loaded down with camera gear during a tour of the Arikaree Breaks in Cheyenne County, Kan.
Photography is my oldest hobby. I began shooting pictures with a cheap fixed-focus camera when I was in seventh grade. Its shutter button was so hard to depress that most of the pictures were hopelessly blurred. Despite that problem, I was hooked instantly. I had a knack for seeing images where others saw nothing of interest.

With a few exceptions, I still use my Olympus film cameras for the best results. My film cameras produce much better color than my digital does. I have the negatives digitized for importation into Photoshop. I plan to buy a Nikon D40 soon, but I'm sure I'll still be using my film camera equipment as well.

Besides photography, I enjoy writing, film-making, scrapbooking, gardening and landscaping. I also enjoy repurposing other people's trash.

My husband Eric and I will soon celebrate our 14th anniversary. We have a sweet black cat, Mr. Boo Kitty.
