We had a super sweet start to British strawberry season this year with lots of juicy news coverage for British Berry Growers – securing 245+ pieces across online, print and broadcast media.
We woke up bright and early to take ITV’s Good Morning Britain team to a berry farm in Kent to present the national weather forecast. We also took the BBC to a berry farm in Nottinghamshire to cover the seasonal labour situation following war in the Ukraine. With Ukrainian workers making up almost 70% of the seasonal workforce last year, the war has meant the soft fruit industry is having to look further afield to source workers, with many now coming from countries like Nepal and Indonesia.
