HOW WE WORK
We put effective brand strategy at the heart of every Red Thread creative idea.
This begins by finding the insights that ensure our campaigns connect with a brand’s audience, and ensuring these insights then are brought to life at every paid, owned and earned touch point.
We have a LEAN, AGILE STRUCTURE (allowing our clients unencumbered access to experts in delivery in every channel) and a UNIQUE COMPANY ETHOS AND VALUES (with our hands-on management team leading from the front!)
OUR ETHOS
Continuing the Wizard of Oz theme, we ask our team and clients alike to:
“Follow your Head, Follow your Heart, Follow your Courage!”
Follow Your Head
Be Curious. We help our clients to outsmart their competitors by embracing an agency culture of agility, problem-solving, innovation and constant professional learning and development.
Follow Your Heart
Be Compassionate. Every day we create emotional connections for our clients’ brands. We walk this walk internally by breaking down barriers to improve diversity, inclusion and representation and by investing in probono initiatives.
Follow Your Courage
Be Brave. We are committed to experimentation and innovation to create a competitive advantage for our clients; this also enhances our Roadies’ careers through investment in constant learning.
OUR D&I MISSION:
Harnessing our head, heart and courage, we are committed to equality and opportunity, ensuring no person gets left behind, irrespective of social status, race, colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation, identity, neurodiversity, physical ability and expression. We stand against discrimination and through employment, mentorship and the work we create, we vow to open doors and break down barriers
HERE’S HOW WE ARE WORKING TOWARDS CREATING A MORE DIVERSE AND INCLUSIVE WORKPLACE AND INDUSTRY:
1. FIGHTING UNDER-REPRESENTATION
We have a 10-point Diversity, Inclusion and Social Mobility Strategic Plan, developed by our agency’s D&I Working Group. This plan ensures that we are set up for recruiting and partnering with talent from different backgrounds. Everyone at Red Brick Road completes the IPA’s Diversity and Inclusion Essentials certification, so that we ensure that we run the agency with inclusion at the heart of our business and have a deep understanding of how to drive change in the industry.
The impact of our strategy was recently recognised by the IPA, awarding Matt our Executive Creative Director as an iList Trailblazer for championing diversity and inclusion across our industry.
As part of our commitment to inspiring the next generation of industry talent, our colleagues have been mentors for Brixton Finishing School and the PRCA Race and Ethnicity Equity Board’s initiative, PRISM. We are a Disability Confident employer, and we are part of ALL IN, the Advertising Assocation’s movement for better representation. We were also a founded member of Create not Hate, helping to produce the campaign ‘Racist Dinosaur’ with mentees.

2. GIVING BACK (PRO BONO WORK)
We’re passionate about supporting communities and charities that work to create a better, and more fair society – that’s why we’ve always been keen to share our skills and expertise through doing pro bono work for great organisations including Age UK, Asylum Aid and Ambitious about Autism. Disability access also matters to us, demonstrated by our lead role on Islington’s Autism Strategy Task team. We regularly speak to other employers about best practice for employees. Chris, an autistic member of staff, is an advocate who advises and shares his experiences.

3. PASSING IT ON & BREAKING DOWN BARRIERS
Accessibility is more than a value. It’s the north star for everyone at the agency. That’s why we’ve created a pioneering work experience programme in partnership with The Courtyard School for young people with special educational needs. Called ‘Open Minds’ it gives students the opportunity to learn first-hand the process of producing a marketing campaign. Now in its sixth year, it has been called out for its ‘incredible impact’ and is now an annual fixture of their curriculum; with other local schools in the borough adopting the programme.
We also run a paid internship scheme with the employability teams at Islington Council. Young people at the intersection of neurodiversity and social mobility join structured programmes with our Finance, Design and Front of House teams. Our programme was described by them as ‘Gold Standard’, giving young people the confidence and skills that will change their lives and prospects.
